Neuromarketing. It sounds fairly complicated, doesn’t it? But fortunately for marketers and small businesses, it doesn’t have to be. Neuromarketing is when the principles of psychology are applied to marketing research and strategy. It was a concept I was fortunate to grasp due to both of my social sciences degrees (I told you it would come in handy dad).

Understanding why people make purchasing decisions online and how they respond to various marketing strategies and tactics is a critical component in effectively marketing your own products or services. Social Media isn’t just about creating and posting content, it is about a deep understanding of how to connect with your potential target market. This is where neuropsychology comes into play. The whole point is to understand the reasoning behind why people make the purchasing decisions that they do, and how they respond to marketing, and then of course use that knowledge to get better at marketing your own products or services.

This week on The Science of Social Media podcast, they dived into the world of neuromarketing and how you can use it to get better results from your social media marketing for your brand or business. Take a listen for yourself.
